The Oregon Logging Congress will include a high school forestry skills competition on February 21, 2015 from  9 am to 1 pm. Over 100 students will compete in:

  • • Cable Splicing
  • • Crosscut
  • • Single Buck
  • • Compass & Pacing
  • • Tool Identification
  • • Log Scaling
  • • Forestry Speech
  • • Job Interview

Come root on the young loggers. Who knows, you may be supporting the next young person to join the industry.

This year seven high school teams will be competing at the Oregon Logging Conference on February 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The competition includes events such as: cable splicing, crosscut, single buck, log scaling and more.

The schools represented this year are:
Sabin/Schellenberg Center (Clackamas/Milwaukie)
• Philomath
• Knappa
• Scio
• Sweet Home
• La Pine
• Vernonia
